About Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL)

Registered as a public company in 1934, Mazagon Dock Limited is a Major Shipyard of India and its headquarter is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The shipyards of MDL were established back in the 18th century and over the years the ownership of the yards passed through institutions like the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company and the British- India Steam Navigation Company. They were finally nationalised in the year 1960 and is now a Public Sector Unit (PSU) under the Government of India.
MDL builds submarines and warships for the Indian Army, offshore platforms and associated support vessels for offshore oil drilling. The first warship built by MDL was the 2900 ton displacement, INS Nilgiri. The yard has the potential to construct warships, submarines and merchant ships upto 30,000 DWT along with the fabrication of wellhead platforms, process & production platforms and jack-up rigs for oil exploration.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or Technology from a recognized university
Final year students are also eligible to apply
A minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA
Valid GATE 2017 scores

Candidates who wish to apply can follow the below mentioned steps to complete the procedure:

Enter your GATE 2017 Registration Number where ever required
Upload your photograph and signature in JPEG format as specified along with the application form (use the same photograph and signature as used for GATE 2017 Application Form)
A unique Application ID will be generated after the submission of the application form
Candidates are requested to take a print out of the submitted form and keep it for the further process
All shortlisted candidates will have to furnish copies of their selected documents- GATE 2017 Application Form, GATE 2017 Admit Card, print out of the MDL Online Application Form, 10th & 12th class certificates, caste certificate, degree mark-sheets and certificates, etc
The payment of application fees can be done via bank challan, which the candidates can be download from the official website of MDL
The application fees id INR 340 (including INR 40 as bank charges)
Candidates are requested to send the MDL Application along with the MDL's copy of challan to- 'Chief Manager (HR-CR), Executive Recruitment Section, 2nd Floor, Mazdock House, Mazagoan Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Dockyard Road, Mumbai- 400010'

Salary Structure

The salary structure offered at MDL for the aforementioned posts will be INR 16,400 to 40,500 with CTC ranging from INR 5.98 lakhs to INR 14.77 lakhs
The variable pay will include dearness allowance and the candidate will be entitled for other perquisite and allowances
