Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) will soon be recruiting engineering graduates through GATE 2017.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) is one of the biggest manufacturing and engineering companies in India, involved in the manufacture, design, construction, engineering, commissioning, servicing and testing of a huge range of services and products for major areas of the economy like defence, Oil and Gas, water, transmission, industry, transportation (railways), power and renewable energy, with more than 180 product offerings to fulfil the demand of these areas. It was incorporated in 1964, and has since been the foundation of India's Heavy Electrical Equipment industry.
BHEL is responsible for 20,000 MW per annum out of the total available 35,000 MW per annum of power plant equipment manufacturing of the nation. BHEL has an extensive system of 17 manufacturing divisions, 15 regional marketing centres, 8 service centres, 6 joint ventures, 6 overseas offices, 4 regional offices, 2 repair units and higher than 150 project sites across the nation along with operations abroad, making its network huge and wide reaching.
BHEL will soon release an official notification about recruiting engineers through the GATE 2017 exam.

Education-
Candidates applying should have a full-time Bachelor's Degree in Engineering /Technology or a Five year integrated Master's degree or Dual Degree programme in Engineering or Technology in the disciplines that the vacancies are open for and the ones they are applying for respectively. The degrees should be from a recognized Indian University/ Institute.
Age Limit-
1. The age limit is 27 years; hence candidates born before 01/09/1988 are not eligible to apply.
2. Candidates who are 29 years old are eligible to apply, provided that they have a two years' full time Post Graduate degree in Engineering or Business

2. Fill the online application form.
3. Before submitting the online application form, General and OBC candidates must pay the application fee and should have received the Journal Number given by the Bank, since that would be needed to fill in the application form.
4. All candidates must note that no changes to the application form will be allowed later, so fill in your details carefully.
5. Once the application has been submitted online, a unique acknowledgement number will be generated, and the candidate can download the acknowledgement slip. The candidate will get two copies of the slip, and one will be a copy of the address to which the slip has to be sent. Candidates should keep a copy of the acknowledgement slip for any future purposes, and the BHEL copy along with the photograph (preferably, should be the same as used in GATE 2016 application), attached to the slip along with the copy of the BHEL Challan (if that's applicable) and the documents mentioned below need to be self attested:

1. Those candidates who are selected will join BHEL as Engineer Trainees and will be under training for a year and will be paid a basic salary of Rs. 20,600/- in the scale of pay of Rs. 20,600- 46,500/-
2. Once the training is complete, they will be absorbed as Engineers and will be paid a basic salary of Rs. 24,900/- in the scale of pay of Rs. 24,900- 50,500/-
3. Apart from receiving the basic pay, selected candidates will be eligible to dearness allowance (currently 112.4% of the basic pay), perks and other allowances (46% of basic pay) and will also receive benefits of leave, leave encashment, Medical facilities for own and dependents, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Performance Related Pay, Uniform, Subsidized Canteen Facilities, Company's accommodation or HRA etc. these will be admissible as per Company Rules, which will be applied from time to time.
4. The cost to company is Rs 8.0 Lakhs per annum, approximately.
Candidates will first have to appear and clear GATE 2016. On the basis of the GATE marks, candidates will make it to the list of shortlisted candidates for the interview.

The final selected candidates will be on the basis of 75% weightage to the GATE test performance and 25% weightage to the performance in the interview.
