Central Railway Recruitment Eligibility Criteria:-
1) Group-C:-
Eligibility: - Candidates should have passed 12th class with 50% marks from a recognized board.
OR Graduation/ Post Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Pay scale: - Rs 5200-20200 plus grade pay 1900 per month.
Age limit: - Candidates should be between 18 to 29 years as on 01 January 2017.
2) Group-D:-
Eligibility: - Candidates should have passed 10th class from a recognized board.
OR ITI certificate in relevant trade from a recognized institute.
Pay scale: - Rs 5200-20200 plus grade pay 1800 per month.
Age limit: - Candidates should be between 18 to 32 years as on 01 January 2017.
Age relaxation: - The upper age limit relaxable up to 03 years for OBC, 05 years for SC/ ST and 10 years for PWD categories candidates as per government rules.
Scouts & Guide qualification:-
Application fee: - Applicants have to pay non-refundable application fee of Rs 500 for general/ OBC candidates and Rs 250 for SC, ST, Ex-serviceman, PWD, women, minorities and economically backward class candidates.
Mode of payment: - The payment can be made by using debit card or credit card or internet banking etc by providing information as asked on the computer screen.
Central Railway Vacancy Selection Process:-
Selection process: - Candidates will be selected on the basis of written examination, Scouting Skill Assessment and Marks on certificates.
Syllabus for the written examination:- History of Scouting/ Guiding, Law and Promises, Knowledge of Books/ Scouting for boys/ Guiding for girls in India, Motto left hand shake, salute, Prayer, Flag song, National Anthem, Know the National & Scouting Flags, Social Services at various occasions, Hiking, Proficiency Badges, How these are earned? Stages in Scouting/ Guiding, Thinking Day, Progressive training of Scouts/ Guides/ Rovers/ Rangers, Pioneering, Handicrafts, Indian Railway Jamborette, National Jamboree, Jamboree on the Air.
Organization at National Level, National Training Centers, WAGGGS/ WOSM, Uprastrapati Award Competition, Prime Minister Shield Competition, Community Development Programmes, Aims and Methods of Scouting, How Scouting is useful in producing better citizens?

Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) vide their Letter No. E(NG)-II/96/RR-1/62 dated 18.07.2005 have delegated the powers of recruitment to Group 'D' posts to the General Managers. In pursuance to this, Railway Recruitment Cell was opened in Central Railway. The Railway Recruitment Cell has been entrusted with the responsibility to make recruitment to all Group 'D' posts from open market.
