558 vacancies in Indian Railways: How to apply

If you ever wanted to work with one of the world’s largest employers, here’s the chance. The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) of Bhubaneswar has made public the notification for hiring the capable apprentices for 588 posts in various departments or disciplines. The candidates who are eligible for the apprentice program can submit their applications online from May 18, 2017 (Thursday at 11:00 hrs) to June 17, 2017 (Saturday till 17:00 hrs).

Following are the eligibility conditions for the apprenticeship:
Age Limit: The Applicant must be 15 years old and should not be more than 24 years of age as on June 17, 2017. (Between 15 and 24). In case of SC/ST applicants and OBC applicants, the upper age limit is relaxed by five years and three years, respectively. And the applicant with disability, upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.
Educational Qualification: The Applicant should have passed 10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from recognized Board and National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
Fee of Application: Rs. 100/- (Non-refundable) should be paid online. The fee can be paid by using debit card / credit card / Internet Banking / e-wallets, etc. by furnishing information as asked on the System. If there are any transaction charges for online payment, they are to be borne by the applicant.

The Collector, who addressed the job aspirants at the mela, advised them to tell lies during job interview regarding their profile while saying that it is a normal practice for all to tell lies in interviews.
Amrapali trying to be practical, went on to say that one should ‘exaggerate and inflate’ the details related to personality, ‘You won’t get jobs if you speak truth’; she adds.She also suggested the youth to overcome tension and not to fear while facing job interview.
The job aspirants should accept the jobs wherever be the place of work and try to prove their skills. ‘Don’t think that you should get job in Warangal alone, if so you won’t get any job’ she cautioned.Addressing the gathering later, the Dy CM Srihari referred to the District Collectors’ suggestion on exaggeration of thing.
He warned the youth to be cautious and be convincing while telling lies. ‘In my opinion it is better not to tell lies, otherwise you would be forced to lose an employment chance,’ he said.He further noted that one should be confident and reflect their skills while answering questions in an interview.
These contradictory suggestions from an official and a minister have left the job aspirants in perplex whether to tell lies or not.

The Tamil Nadu School Education Department will announce the results of the class 12 board exams on Friday, May 12. Students, who took the exam this year, can check their marks on the official site of the board at around 10 am.

The Directorate of Government Examinations, Government of Tamil Nadu said on the results site that the "HSC 2 Examination Results (were) Expected on 12th May 2017".

The Tamil Nadu examination board conducted the class 12 exams for Arts, Science and Commerce stream in March.

Recruitment of jail wardens restarts

Amritsar, May 9
After the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court (HC) to restart the recruitment process for the 527 posts of jail warden/matron, the Police Commissionerate, Amritsar, today held a physical fitness test of the applicants. There were 226 applicants from Amritsar for the job of jail warden, who passed the physical efficiency test in 2012.
Senior police officials said 165 applicants, out of 226, appeared for the test and their fitness report has been prepared, which would be sent to the headquarters in Chandigarh for the further process of recruitment.
It is worth mentioning here that the state government had issued an advertisement in October 2011 to recruit 527 jail wardens. The recruitment process had started in 2012 and physical efficiency test was conducted.
Meanwhile, IPS officer Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh recommended the cancellation of the recruitment process as rules were
reportedly amended before advertising the posts. The government had canceled the recruitment process midway.
The candidates, who had cleared the physical test, approached the court in 2014 and challenged the decision of the government. In December 2016, the HC had quashed the Punjab government’s decision to cancel the process for recruiting jail warders and ordered it to start the procedure again.
A large number of candidates, who had earlier cleared the physical efficiency test, were absent from the recruitment process. Police officials say the absentees may have taken up some other job.
Meanwhile, the candidates were elated with the beginning of the recruitment process after five years. “We are waiting for the job for the past seven years. We struggled a lot for this and never gave up. Now, we are expecting the recruitment process to conclude within a few days,” said a recruit.
